Celebrating Mat Simpson’s Life Through Art and Charity
Our Mission to Honour Mat and Support Brain Cancer Research
About the foundation
Mat Simpson was a gifted artist whose work combined subtle colour palettes with bold emotion. After his death, Mat’s Quiet Colour Foundation was created to preserve his artistic legacy and to raise funds for brain cancer research.
Mat was a research scientist by training, a much-loved Chemistry teacher, as well as a talented artist. He bravely and calmly embraced his glioblastoma diagnosis, and remained absolutely true to his character and values until his untimely death in March 2026.
Mat's Quiet Colour Foundation operates under The Mat Simpson Art Archive Ltd, owned by Mat's partner and soulmate, Nicola.

Mission Statement
Rooted in Mat’s instinctive use of colour and his quiet thoughtful way of seeing the world, the foundation exists to share his art and to transform its impact into support for Brain Cancer research. By bringing his work to new audiences, we honour his creativity, his curiosity, and the gentle clarity with which he approached both art and life.
